Claiming Procedures

What happens when I need to make a claim against my insurance?

  • As per current convention by the new Motor Claims Framework (MCF) introduced by the General Insurance Association of Singapore to simplify making motor claims for all users in Singapore, in an accident, here are the 4 simple steps you can follow (source: http://www.gia.org.sg/pdfs/Industry/Motor/MCF_FAQs.pdf)

1. Get Information

  • Exchange particulars of involved parties including Name, NRIC/FIN number, Phone number, Address & Insurance Company
  • Take note of the vehicle numbers
  • Take digital photographs of all involved 3rd party vehicles & the accident scene for filing of accident report

2. Call your insurer’s Hotline

  • Call the insurer’s 24 hour hotline for a tow truck or for further advice on the accident

3. Report & Deliver Vehicle

  • Report and bring your accident vehicle (whether damaged or not) to one of the insurer’s approved authorised workshops/reporting centres within 24 hours or by the next working day

4.  Lodge Police Report, for the following motor accident cases

  • Injury
  • Non-injury involving a govt vehicle/damage to govt property
  • Non-injury involving a foreign vehicle
  • Non-injury involving a pedestrian or cyclist
  • Any accident outside of Singapore

  • All motor insurance policies issued are fully underwritten by the insurers. Members will liaise with the insurer directly for any claims made towards the policy and vice versa. AutoMoneyBack will not be liable for any claims made towards the policy.
